Strategic Planning

Good planning takes time and effort – and both are in short supply within busy organizations trying to meet day-to-day demands.

Using a proven methodology, Allison Sampson Management Consultants (ASMC) will analyze the complexity of an organization, including the roles of its staff, its constituencies, its external stakeholders, and its board. The objective is to design strategies that will guide the organization into the future.

ASMC provides a two-fold service:

  • Operational overview and assessments to resolve current pressing issues or obstacles to planning
  • Long-term strategic guidance and planning

Public sector clients, such as the City of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (DWP), frequently contract ASMC. In the case of the DWP, ASMC worked as part of a team to facilitate a series of focus groups and meetings. The objective was to create an organization-wide vision from which to develop a strategic plan for the water division. The largest municipal utility in the nation, DWP uses this strategic plan today.

ASMC often forms close working relationships with nonprofit serving unique or complex constituencies. We have a wide range of experience in helping arts, healthcare, and community-based organizations.

During the course of providing strategic counsel, we often work with nonprofits such as Plaza de la Raza and the YWCA on institutional growth, as well as on developing and carrying out their strategic plans. These successful organizations continue to thrive in a changing environment. Good strategic planning helped lead the way.

Let Allison Sampson Management Consultants assist your organization on its way to future success in a changing economy.
